EOC(Ethernet Bridge Over Coax)
DESCRIPTION
The EOC Ethernet Multi-tap (DT2112) combines Ethernet and CATV signals for transport over coaxial cables. It is a combination of a normal RF multi-tap with an Ethernet switch.DT2112 enables transparent layer 2 Ethernet connection over coaxial cable by combining an 1-to-12 RF splitter with a 2+12 port Ethernet switch and RF circuits for combining these two.
Data rate per port can be limited between 64 Kbps and 8 Mbps. When more than the programmed rate is sent or received through a port, packets are dropped. Port-based VLAN tags can be used to provide customer isolation. Traffic from cascade or subscriber port will only be switched to the trunk port to prevent pier-to-pier communication.
